Laying the groundwork for product development

🍂It’s PSL Season! (Plan, Sprint, Launch🚀)

Happy un-official start to fall! Its that time of the season… Officially the time the Flora founders hunker down in a coffee shop with pumpkin spice lattes (not too many though, because we are in full on founder mode.) But before we sprint into September here are our updates from August!

MN Cup Semi-Finals in Review

We learned so much from making it to the MN Cup Semi-Finals for the Education Division! What a big accomplishment for our team. Even though we didn't make it through to the finals, we are JAZZED at our progress and happy to have had great feedback. It was a great opportunity to learn more about other companies in the education technology space and make some exciting connections within The University of Minnesota!

🛒Tangible Goods + Digital Growth

As we continue building Flora’s digital content into a website & app, we are also creating a small set of tangible goods for guardians. These products are designed to complement our curriculum and give us early insights into customer preferences, while also generating initial revenue. Last month we purchased floragirls.com, which now hosts our preliminary shopping page. This step is a bridge toward our larger goal of launching Flora’s digital platform.

Getting our materials into the hands of girls and parents is a critical step for feedback and impact, which is why having our booklets ready to be dispatched and read is a key focus of this launch.

Upgrading Our Iconography

We have been working hard to update our MVP wireframes and make them as appealing to our target audience as possible. As helpful as Canva Pro has been, it’s time for us to update and get our OWN iconography.

We’ve connected with a potential illustrator to create custom iconography that’s 100% ours. First up: updating our booklets so all of the artwork is licensed and uniquely Flora. Then, those new graphics will make their way into our wireframes for a polished, cohesive look. Basically… Flora is about to get a major aesthetic upgrade!

  • Product Sales = $2,000 » Shopify site getting ready for launch in 2 weeks! Floragirls.com

  • Flora SEO Rebrand » Branding Expert found and scoping call scheduled!

  • Partner 10 Schools to Pilot » 1/10! Let us know if you have any school contacts you think would benefit from a puberty education upgrade 🏫🎒
