Flora's March Updates🍀
A lucky month!
Hello everyone!
Welcome back to another installment of Flora’s companies updates where we dive into the nitty gritty of the last month. Boy do we have a lot to share!
We got some professional photos back from the Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge:

Look at that trophy! 🤩
Still feeling on a high from this competition and the connections we made have so far been fruitful! We couldn’t be more grateful for all the support.
Now we gear up for the Global Finals taking place at the end of May. We are excited to announce that we have added an All-Star to our team. Introducing employee #1, who truly is #1, Quincy Anderson! Quincy was a fellow Schulze Innovation Scholar with Payton and I, and truly brings the marketing expertise that we are excited to have.
In addition to being a current student at UST, Quincy is a D1 athlete and a business owner! If you want to add her marketing skills to your business as well, check out her marketing company Berry Marketing Co.
If you can’t tell we’re beyond pumped to have her and are excited to utilize her skills for our marketing strategy and more!
Ignite Cup Finals
On March 27th, we competed in the finals of the 10th annual Ignite Cup in Southeastern MN. Just being apart of the competition in general was an honor and the other semifinalists and finalists were so talented.
Feeling so pumped that we took home 3rd place and earned $2,500 to put towards our development. Plus we got to hold our first ever giant check, which makes things even more fun!

Connections and more connections!
We have truly been blessed with the numerous amounts of connections we’ve received in the past month. Doctors, Educators, Parents, Students, and Tech, oh my!
Everyone we have met with has great stories that continues to inspire us to pursue this mission. One of the most engaging conversations we had this month was with Kristin, she is a sex educator at an independent school in Ohio. Kristin has developed more tailored information in the classroom and had helpful feedback for us on how to best reach our target audience.
If you know of anyone who would be interested in learning more about Flora, as either a user, or a contributor, we’d love to connect! Shoot us an email at [email protected]
Justina’s Highlight:
I was very honored to be asked to speak to Benilde St. Margaret’s Girl Up Club this past month. Not only did I get to talk about being a woman in finance and navigating male dominated fields, but also building Flora! The girls had great questions about what its like building a business right out of college, why we decided to start Flora, and what our goals are for the future.
This was a great group of girls and something I wish my high school offered as well. Go BSM for bringing an awesome club together!
Payton’s Highlight:
My highlight for this month was working to get our MVP ready for scoping calls on March 31st with area development studios! We have been working with the Owatonna Business Development Center to receive mentorship on our first web-app and we are beyond excited to be moving through this process to get Flora’s first form out soon!
A fantastic learning experience and a supportive community is a perfect way to end the month of March.
What’s Next!
It is almost Flora’s birthday! It is so crazy to think that it has almost been an entire year since the idea of Flora happened. Since then, there has been a lot of changes, and we couldn’t be more happy with where we see this going.
We are so grateful to all of you for your connections, your guidance, and the encouragement when we’ve felt stuck. As a thank you, we are throwing a little party!

Shout out March for being awesome, we’re ready to take on April head on!
