Flora September Updates

A new look for Flora🐝

Hello all,

Welcome back to our LAST monthly newsletter.

Don’t worry, we aren’t going anywhere! While we have many family and friends subscribed from the early days, our Growing Flora newsletter has transitioned more into investor updates and we are switching to a quarterly cadence for future updates.

While we’ll miss the monthly updates, we promise enough happened this September to hold you over till next quarter. Let’s get into this past month’s updatesđŸ„ł

Justina Heads to California!

Last week, I headed down to San Diego with 12 other MN founders to attend Stella Foundation’s annual Women’s Venture Summit! It was a wonderful week filled with investor panels, inspiring keynotes, and meeting other women-focused startups.

My goal going into this conference was to meet investors interested in Women’s Health, connecting with founders in similar spaces, and learning new strategies for raising capital. Overall, it was a very successful week and we’ve added some awesome connections to Flora’s network. Excited to see what these relationships grow into.

As we gear up to raise within the next few months, we are feeling energized by these connections and are thrilled to have them in our network. We’re excited for future trips and conferences to keep sharing Flora with the world.

Updated Branding Package! & Launch of our New Website

Have you checked out our new website? September’s main priority was getting our new branding package put together and an interactive website launched. While it was a grind it’s so exciting to see it come to life. Huge thanks to Payton for leading this effort!

Some things to check out:

  • We’ve got new colors! No longer just the pink, while still creating a fun and comforting vibe for our young audience.

  • Early previews of lessons! If you’ve been wanting to know how we’re formatting courses, you can now read a few quick ones on our website. As of now these are just text, but will become more interactive with videos and graphics in the future.

  • Beta tester sign up! Link to a quick Google form for potential beta testers. Know someone? We’d love for you to send it their way 😀

This next quarter, our priority is to get all of our content digitized and test with focus groups. We’re working on securing local partnerships in the Twin Cities, if you have any that you’re connected with that could be a good fit let us know. We’re looking for girls ages 8-14, or parent groups for this age range as well.

It’s great to see our vision come more to life and be one more step closer to an accessible and user-friendly education experience. Take a look: https://www.growwithflora.app/

Partnership With University of Minnesota Impact Lab

We’re excited to be back in the classroom! This time at the U of M partnering with their Impact Lab capstone course. Through this program we’ve been partnered with over a dozen current business students to work on a variety of projects for us. There are 3 groups that will be assisting us in market research, partnership outreach, and content creation/strategy.

This is truly a joy and we are already so impressed with the work they’ve delivered. As we are now fully in the building process and interview process for new team members, handing this work off has been a huge time saver.

Building an Advisory Board and Making Our First Hire

We are excited to have a Q4 goal surrounding building an Advisory Board, specifically adding medical professionals. Our current process of content creation has been breaking down hard to digest articles and research, translating it for a younger audience, and then getting a stamp of approval from our medical advisors.

While this has worked in small batches, as we scale it is not feasible anymore. Bringing someone in house has always been our goal and now is the time.

Our ideal partner would be a pediatric gynecologist. We would also be thrilled to partner with a pediatrician, OBGYN, or pediatric psychologist for our mental health resources. If you have any connections in these fields, or other women’s health focused connections, we’d love a warm intro.

As of right now we have a few individuals we’re meeting with and hoping to formalize one or more to a more regulated advisory position by the end of the year.

Goodbye for now!

We will see you in December for our Q4 2025 update! We do believe switching to the quarterly format makes more sense for our stage of growth. But, if you are wanting to catch up on a more regular basis, let’s chat!
